The economic effects of coronavirus will long outlast the lockdown. Although many of us are taking a step back to normality, others are jobless, hungry and vulnerable in the wake of the pandemic.
We have raised £66,000 since lockdown began – a real testament to Southend’s generosity. However, we must go further if Southend Emergency Fund is to continue to support our town.
This is where you come in. Fundraising for our town.
Our supporters are launching fundraising campaigns to raise money on behalf of the Fund, and you can join them. By fund raising for us, you will support the charities that help those who are most in need because of coronavirus.
Sally Willcock, who organised a garden plant sale, said,
“It felt good to raise £300 for Southend Emergency Fund. They are providing vital support to people across our town and i’m proud to be a part of it.”
