Could you fundraise for Southend Emergency Fund?

The economic effects of coronavirus will long outlast the lockdown. Although many of us are taking a step back to normality, others are jobless, hungry and vulnerable in the wake of the pandemic.

We have raised £66,000 since lockdown began –  a real testament to Southend’s generosity. However, we must go further if Southend Emergency Fund is to continue to support our town.

This is where you come in. Fundraising for our town.

Our supporters are launching fundraising campaigns to raise money on behalf of the Fund, and you can join them. By fund raising for us, you will support the charities that help those who are most in need because of coronavirus.

Sally Willcock, who organised a garden plant sale, said,

“It felt good to raise £300 for Southend Emergency Fund. They are providing vital support to people across our town and i’m proud to be a part of it.”

Does this sound like something you want to do?

Raising money in 3 easy steps.

Step 1: Choose an activity

There are many ways you can fundraise – it can be challenging, fun or creative. Here are some ideas:

  • A sponsored walk, run or cycle.
  • A plant, cake or yard sale.
  • A marathon gaming session.
  • An online quiz night or auction.
  • A raffle
  • Shave your head (if you’re feeling brave!)

Step 2: Set-up your page on JustGiving

Start fundraising with Justgiving for Southend Emergency Fund Button

Go to www.justgiving.com/campaign/southendemergencyfund and click ‘start fundraising’. Follow the instructions and create a page for your campaign.

Step 3: Launch your campaign

Tell your family and friends about what you’re doing and how much you hope to raise.

We can support you in promoting your campaign, so let us know by emailing: info@southendemergencyfund.org.uk
